Year 5 have had a brilliant World Book Day!

The children showed up in some amazing costumes showing some of their favourite characters. We created factfiles of the characters we dressed up as, and even came up with our own stories. We tried to ‘hook’ our readers in with the first 50 words.

We had a virtual talk from Barbara Henderson, the author of ‘The Chessmen Thief’ – this is the next book that Year 5 will be studying in English.

We finished the day with a virtual illustration workshop from Nick Sharratt, who famously illustrated many of Jacqueline Wilson’s books! We were really impressed with the results.
