School Meals

Our Primary School menus are carefully developed to appeal to children and provide the perfect balance of essential nutrients – and to offer them the chance to try a few dishes they may not have tried before. The menu is on a 3 week cycle and provides a hot choice (always including a jacket potatoe), salad bar and sandwich option. We always offer a vegetarian option and a selection of desserts. We pride ourselves in ensuring all children enjoy a delicious, filling meal each day at school.  We also have special theme days built into the school year. We cater for allergies and intolerances. Kitchen staff are experienced in ensuring all pupils are fully included in our mealtimes. Please contact school for any additional information or questions.

School Meals must be paid for in advance. Payment in arrears is not permitted. This can be done via topping up your child’s account in Arbor. School meals are currently £15.50 per week or £3.10 per day.

We use meal patterns, so you must let us know if your child will be having packed lunch or school meals each day of the week. To change your pattern, we must have 1 weeks’ notice.

Free School Meals

Our school is delighted to be part of the Department for Education’s Free School Meals Eligibility Checking Service. This innovative system simplifies the process of applying for free school meals for our families. We are now able to offer you the facility to check your eligibility directly.

We encourage all families to take a moment to check whether they may be eligible. Even if your child currently receives Universal Infant Free School Meals (from Reception to Year 2), it is still important to complete this check. If eligible, our school will receive additional funding through the Pupil Premium grant, which directly supports teaching, resources, and wider opportunities for pupils. And even if your child prefers to bring a packed lunch into school each day we would be grateful if you would complete an application – the additional funding will be paid whether or not your child takes a meal.

Checking eligibility is quick and confidential.

The check only takes a few minutes, and in most cases, you will receive an immediate response. If you believe are eligible, please continue to complete the short online application with your child’s details and the school will be notified automatically.

In order to complete the simple on-line check in the first instance, you will just need to enter the name of our school, your first and last name, date of birth and your national insurance number.

We are able to do an eligibility check on your behalf. You need to ensure you have added your date of birth and national insurance number into Arbor. We will then complete a check on an annual basis. For further information on the changes from September 2026, please click the link below:

Packed Lunch

If your child brings in a packed lunch, we ask parents to provide a healthy packed lunch containing:

• Some form of bread as part of a sandwich 
• Fresh fruit and/or vegetables 
• Yoghurt  
• Plain biscuit or cake 
• Crisps as a treat  
• Drink. 

Children are not permitted to bring in the following:  

• Chocolate or sweets  
• Any food containing nuts or sesame 
• Glass bottles, cans and other containers that could be dangerous
• Fizzy drinks or juice.
