Monochromatic artwork

November 8, 2024

This week Year Two have learnt the difference between chromatic and monochromatic art! We now know monochromatic art is based on a single colour with shades and tones that are either lighter or darker. We learnt about Pablo Picasso’s ‘blue period’ where his monochromatic artwork represented a sad and challenging time in his life. We had a go at creating our own monochromatic artwork and were amazed at what shades of colour were produced when adding black and white to the base colour!
