In RE in Y1, we have started our topic on Baptism. We have been learning about welcoming people to and belonging to different groups like our family at home, clubs, our class and our school. We took a trip to St Anne’s Church this afternoon and Mrs Lowes showed and explained to us some very important elements of a Baptism like the Holy Water, the font, the candle and more! She showed us with a baby-doll what would happen at a Baptism and we even all got a turn to bring the baby to the font and pour the Holy Water onto its head. We had some time to colour in the symbols of baptism before our walk back to school.
