For World Mental Health Day, we learnt that mental health is all about how we are feeling and the thoughts we are having and that our minds are all different, so we might experience these feelings in different ways. We talked about how we could make our mental health a priority in our classroom so that we can ensure we all feel happy, safe and well in school.
We discussed the ways we can support our own mental health and wellbeing like spending time with our friends and loved ones, doing something we enjoy or talking to a trusted adult. We know that having the words to describe our feelings helps us to make our own mental health and wellbeing a priority, so we referred to our Zones of Regulation board in class and discussed the meanings of some emotions on there.
We each created a poster to promote World Mental Health Day, coloured in some wellbeing pictures and best of all, decorated biscuits! We had the chance to talk about and plan our design of something which made us happy or brought us joy. This was a great example of doing something we enjoy to support our mental health.
