Year 1 helped to plan and set up a Celebration of the Word that was all about the Baptism of the Lord. Together we discussed what we would include on the focal point and explained the importance of each object. We gathered by placing a water droplet on the focal point to represent the water that Jesus was baptised with. After reading scripture from the Bible, the children dipped a finger in a bowl of water and made the sign of the cross. Then, the children were given a small dove to take away with them to remind them of the Holy Spirit.
