This week, in Year 2’s collective worship, the theme was ‘patience,’ which we decided would be a focus in the classroom. Together, as a class, we decided what we would include on our focal point. We used a green cloth because we are in Ordinary Time, a candle as a sign of God’s presence, a sand timer as a symbol of waiting and time passing, and a plant, which represented how waiting and caring for something helps it grow. The children shared lots of ideas about times they have found it hard to be patient and how they overcame this. We also discussed ways in which we can show patience going forward.
